Freedom

Life is a narrative that you have a hand in writing. Henriette Anne Klauser

Freedom doesn't mean being free from challenges in life. Freedom is the ability to make wise choices when those challenges come. Those bumps in the road are expressions, or symptoms, of what' going on inside--belief systems, thought patterns, our method of dealing with outer situations. Unless we live in LaLa Land, we can't be totally free of inner negative energies that draw negative situations to us. It's part of being human. But we don't have to live in bondage.

Inside is where you cultivate bondage or freedom in your world, and there's power in understanding what's happening, how it works, and how you can take control and work it your way. We shape outcomes, and changing what goes on inside changes the severity and frequency of what goes on outside. That's freedom.

Recently, I heard a friend speaking on a three-point plan to change inner thoughts to create different outcomes.
1. Acceptance: You don't have to like what's going on in your life, but resisting it will only give it more power over you. Look at it and say, without judgment, This is where I am today, and that's okay. Simply allow it to be until you pass through it.
2. Gratitude: Gratitude is one of the most powerful emotions we have. Every life has something to be grateful for. Find it. The more you express gratitude, the more you will find to be grateful for. That's how it works.
3. Trust: It's hard to trust when you don't see a favorable outcome, but once you change your thinking and allow what you want to unfold, you will see better results. That's how it works.

Change takes practice, but isn't freedom to make wise choices instead of blindly following the same path through life worth the time and effort? You will backslide, but then you get back up on the path and keep going. Every time you have a negative thought, say these three words with conviction: Acceptance, Gratitude, Trust.

Approach everything in your life with love, not fear. Love yourself and bless your journey. Forgive your mistakes, and praise your success. Choose to live a different way, and you will.

One of the most powerful prayers I know is: Change my life by changing me. There is no other path to freedom.

I wish you a happy future of your own creation.

Marilyn
